ABOUT

Ludmila Prochazka is a ceramic sculptor who’s work can be found in many countries around the world including Canada, United States, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Australia. Her charming and authentic ceramic sculpture reliefs are sculpted in clay, then glazed and fired in the kiln. She assembles them into wall size reliefs, transforming her environment into a breathtaking scenery. She defines her artwork through two and three dimensional forms that meet between the ancient and modern world of art. Ludmila explores the relationship between the world of imagination, memory, symbolism, beauty and personal history. She uses the elemental material clay, which has the ability to imitate many natural forms and textures. Her innovative style combines both traditional and contemporary techniques making her art a unique sensation. 

 

 

BIOGRAPHY

 

Ludmila Prochazka is a Czech born - Canadian artist, living and working in Ottawa. She completed her art education in the Czech Republic and established herself as a professional artist. She has been exhibiting and selling her artwork in Canada and abroad for over 30 years. She is a member of the National Capital Network of Sculptors in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

ARTIST STATEMENT

 

During my creative process, I translate a vision that comes to me into a sculptural ceramic relief.

My work is meant to provoke spiritual questioning and an inner awareness of beauty within the spectator. The art form becomes an extension and transformation of my positive, healing energy emanating beauty and peace to the outside world.
